Dr. Westmacott is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario. He had a solo rural practice for 23 years before relocating to Alberta in 1999, including hospital, emergency department, on-call rotation, family practice obstetrics, house calls, as well as being a Medical Advisor for Home Care for a number of years and was president of the Medical Advisors Home Care Association of Ontario.
Dr. Westmacott is a practicing Family Physician and a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, with acceptance from the College to practice Homeopathy. In 1998, he trained as a Homeopathic Doctor at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital in London England where he achieved the MD LFHom. He returned in 2006 successfully achieving his MD MFHom (Member of the Faculty of Homeopathy).
