Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Alexandra (Ally) Sawka always a had a passion for health and wellness. Growing up as a competitive dancer, Dr. Ally developed an interest in body movement and function.
This interest led her to the University of Calgary where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction. During this time, she was exposed to the field of Chiropractic and went on to further her studies at the University of Western States (UWS) in Portland, Oregon. In 2024, Dr. Ally graduated with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree achieving Summa Cum Laude.
During her time at UWS, Dr. Ally was elected to be president of the Soft Tissue Club, where she gained expertise in various soft tissue techniques. These included Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Cupping and Muscle energy techniques.
Dr. Ally focuses on evidence-based patient centered care, tailoring each treatment plan to a patient’s individual needs and goals. She incorporates diversified adjusting, mobilizations, soft tissue therapy and rehabilitative exercises into patient care. Dr. Ally is also trained in Active Release Techniques (ART) and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS).
Dr. Ally has a special interest in treating the perinatal population and is Webster Certified, a technique designed to ensure optimal biomechanics of the pelvis and low back throughout
pregnancy.
When not in clinic, Dr. Ally enjoys spending time with her friends and family, running and exploring the mountains.
