Born and raised in Calgary, Cormac has had a passion for sport and exercise for as long as he can remember. Cormac spent 10+ years playing the highest level of soccer in the city, while also playing other sports such as golf, basketball, volleyball and hockey. These experiences allowed Cormac to become familiar with the physical demands of all types of exercise, the injuries that can come as a result of such demands, and the rehab required to overcome these injuries.
Cormac graduated from the University of Calgary after completing his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction. While completing his Kinesiology degree, Cormac gained experience working for multiple different sports medicine companies and soon found his passion for Physical Therapy. Cormac completed his Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta.
Cormac’s treatment uses an evidence-based approach that combines therapeutic exercise with effective manual therapy techniques. He believes that each patient is unique, and deserves their own individualized treatment plan that considers all factors relevant to meeting any short-term and long-term goals. Cormac’s aim is to help patients achieve and maintain their most healthy selves.
After working as a Kinesiologist in a senior’s community, coaching children in high level exercise-based programs, working 5+ years in a clinic with patients of all ages, and assisting with the fitness testing of professional sports teams such as the Calgary Flames, it is safe to say that Cormac is comfortable working with patients of all demographics.
Outside of the clinic, Cormac loves to stay active by working out, hiking and golfing. Non-exercise interests include music, trivia and music trivia – he challenges any patient to quiz him! There is a good chance that you could find him at a Calgary dog park with his border collie-husky, Luna, or trying out new food spots around the city with family and friends!
